Becky grew up on a farm outside of Malvern, Iowa. She graduated from college with a degree in art education with an emphasis in ceramics, painting and drawing. She taught art at Papillion Junior High for thirty-eight years. She currently lead art workshops, makes wheel thrown pottery, take photographs, gardens and makes some art.
I paint subjects that interest me and challenge me. I love trying and expanding my skills using a wide range of media and styles both in and out of my comfort zone. The easiest way to be creative is to try something different, even if you don’t think it will work.
Learning to see is the the most important sense an artist can develop. I am intrigued by the beauty of nature and The many wonderful ways in which it expresses itself. If you look around you, you’ll find there are exciting subjects everywhere. the secret is to have fun learning during the creative process.
