Carol is a native of Ashland, Nebraska and grew up on a farm in rural Ashland. She was educated at Ashland High School and the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She worked in the insurance industry for 40 years. She has had an interest in several different types of art over the years. She has enjoyed tole painting, drawing, photography and ceramics. After she retired, she started a new chapter in her life. A friend gave her lessons in painting with acrylics. She was encouraged to take classes in art basics. She took drawing, watercolor and colored pencil classes at Southeast Community college and studied at Barb Mandery’s private studio in Lincoln for a year and she has taken courses and tutorials on-line. She is a member of Omaha Artists, Inc. (OAI) which has workshops monthly which gives her exposure to new forms of art and opportunities to make friends with fellow artist. She has displayed art thru OAI over the last 10 years.
