Glenda Dietrich Moore
Painting
Glenda Dietrich Moore uses a vibrant, rich, deeply-hued palette in her invigorating watercolor paintings. Her use of color is fresh, powerful and evocative.
Using traditional watercolor techniques and without using white and opaque paint, her paintings achieve a glowing transparency. She seeks to maintain a balance between carefully planning a painting’s composition and values, and painting in a fluid, flowing style. Her fast-moving brushwork, coupled with her excitement in experiencing the spontaneous interaction of color hues, create a genuinely unique body of work.
Glenda’s paintings range from traditional representational to expressive contemporary. Her subject matter includes landscape, outer space, figures, animals and personal interpretations. She paints from her inner spirit in order to share her inspiration with the viewer.
Acquaintance with her unique biography reveals much about her artwork. She has a BFA degree in painting and has studied specialized watercolor painting beyond her degree work. She also has a Master of Divinity degree and served many years as an ordained minister in churches, which opened varied sources of inspiration for her. This combination of influences has broadened the ways she gives voice to her life experience in her paintings.
Glenda teaches year-round art classes and offers workshops combining art, spirituality and creativity. She has illustrated several published children’s books. Her paintings have been used for calendars, posters, brochures, and book covers, and have been published frequently in magazines. Glenda lives and paints in Lincoln Nebraska.
