Linda Block
Painting
Linda Block is a 4th generation from Gothenburg, Nebraska. She was always interested in the arts and was able to use her musical talents while growing up and after marriage and children. With great appreciation of the art world, but not having the time, opportunity, or financial ability to pursue it, her painting was put on hold.
In 1993 after her retirement and spending six months in Texas, She was able to find an art class. For ten years she painted under the excellent leadership of an art major and professional artist. With her medium as oil, she did a variety of work-still life, scenery, glassware, grandchildren’s portraits, and Western art.
She and her husband have spent the past 12 years working in The Black Hills of South Dakota. Thus her favorite subjects are the buffalo, Western scenery, and Native American culture.
